I recently purchased a Verizon recommended external hard drive for extra storage for recordings. The model is a Western Digital 1 TB HD: WDBABT0010HBK-NESN
The install went fine. I connected via the E-Sata port in my Motorola 7216 DVR. Within a few minutes I was all set for recordings. There seemed to be no problems recording shows - until I decided to play them back. Playback is very choppy with the video constantly freezing. Shows are basically unwatchable. When I call customer support, they refuse to provide any support for their recommended external drives. So I've basically wasted $105. Verizon should not offer a service that they refuse to support. I am really disappointed with Verizon Customer Support.
If anybody has found a work-around for this issue please let me know.
