I have issue with mobile remote - will not connect.
follow instructions, registration fails at "sending instructions to device" stage, error saying check connection or reset stb. Both have been tried
please help?

the mobile device definetely has to be on the same network as the set top boxes, so if you have multiple routers, as long as you connect to the segment that has the set top boxes, it should work. if you have a linksys or alternate router, then they won't see the set top boxes.

It has now been months...
The xoom has been out since early 2011 and my friends can use it to control Comcast/Xfinity, but I still can't use it to control my FIOS...Cmon Verizon..step it up.

Just got the Xoom on black friday. Enjoying the heck out of it but I too cannot get the mobile remote working. I can view the tv listings and schedule recordings but the remote won't work no matter what I try. My wife's samsung galaxy s2 works fine as a remote but my xoom won't. Hopefully this will one day get fixed but not a real high priority for me.
