Hello all, new to FIOS, pretty happy so far, but have a question. I have an Energy Soundbar, and when I have the optical audio plugged in from my STB to my soundbar, the soundbar won't go in to "Standby" mode when I turn off my STB. This was never an issue with my old Charter cable box. For now, I just have RCA cables from TV to the soundbar, and when everything is off, the usual 5-10 minutes go by and Standby mode kicks in. It's like the STB has too much signal, even when off. Anyone else expierence this?
Thank you in advance!

I wonder if it's because, even when "off", the STB still has a [video] signal? Maybe the optical is following the same "logic"? I don't know if there is a setting for turning that "turn your tv off" screen off, but alternatively (if your STB has it), you could set the AC plug on the STB to be in the same state as the STB (on when on, off when off) and pug the sound bar's power into the STB's outlet.
Hope that helps.

EJRW pretty much said it. I've noticed the Fios boxes even when off allow the optical output to output light even though no audio is actually going through it so its always on.
