Fios and Mitsubishi 3DC 3D adaptor.

I finally got my Mitsubishi 3DC 3D adaptor so I can watch 3D programing on my 3D tv.

The problem I'm having is my Fios HD DVR says that the adaptor is not HDCP and won't send a signal throught it:smileysad:

I have everything my Xbox, PS3, 3D blu-ray player and fios all going through my Onkyo SR608 then to the 3DC adaptor then to the TV. I can use the Xbox, PS3 or the 3D blu-ray player without any problems but when I try and watch tv I get a message that the adaptor is not HDCP so the Fios box won't send video I just end up with a blank screen:smileysad:

There is limited programming in 3d on fios.   so are you on a 3d program?

Re: Fios and Mitsubishi 3DC 3D adaptor.

The problem is that most content broadcast by Verizon is protected by HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). In a nutshell this is copyright protection. In order to display this content in full digital on the TV, the TV and STB must communicate with each other via the HDMI cable. If they do not communicate, then the HDCP will not allow the signal to be sent through.

With those of us that have TV's that have this problem, we can simply change to component cables and no more issue. The problem is that 3D requires the HDMI cable. So if your adaptor is not HDCP complient, then it will not work with the Verizon broadcast. I'd call the manufacturer (Mitsubishi?) and ask if they have a HDCP complient version available.

Re: Fios and Mitsubishi 3DC 3D adaptor.

Well I have an update to the problem.

I unpluged the HDMI cable from the Onkyo SR680 and pluged it directly into the 3DC adaptor and it works fine. I get a picture from the Fios box on the TV with no warning message. But if I go back through the receiver I get the warning message again.

Re: Fios and Mitsubishi 3DC 3D adaptor.

I just found out that the Verizon STB's currently have a single sink limitation, so that is probably why it works without the onkyo in the middle.   the 1.9 update towards the end of the year is supposed to resolve that issue.

Re: Fios and Mitsubishi 3DC 3D adaptor.

So the Fios box is receiving a siginal from both the receiver and the adapter so it's probably thinking the adaptor is a recording device?

And I'm going to have to wait until the end of the year for an update to fix the problem :smileysad:(
