I have an Epson HD front projector, 2010-11 model. Standard channels are fine, but when I switch to an HD channel I get bars of "noise" in the middle and bottom of the screen. Everyone hour or so I'll lose the whole screen. When I hook up my Blu-ray player to the same HDMI cable I don't have any issues at all.
Does the Verizon HD DVR have a problem pushing HD video over 40 feet of high quality HDMI cable? If so, are there other options like TIVO with better HD receivers???
Thanks,
Andy---

More than likely the issue is in the HDMI connection. If your projector has it, you might try component video instead of HDMI.
One of the Verizon manages commented not long ago that HDMI stands for Highly Decpetive Media Interface.
That is a polite way of saying that there are a number of places where the interface specification isn't quite as tightly defined as it needs to be, and the result is that some devices just don't work very well together when connected via HDMI even the products are all supposed to be 100% HDMI compatible.
TiVo may or may not work better than FiOS. Also if you have a Motorola box, you might try to swap it with a Cisco box or vice versa.

Thanks, I'll try both suggestions: 1) Try a Component video cable to confirm or rule out the HDMI cable; and 2) Try a different set top box from Verizon this week.
