HD Channel default?

Just got Quantum TV after having regular Fios previously.  On my old box I had a setting to automatically default to HD channels.  For example, if I pressed 6 (ABC) on the remote, the TV would tune to 506 (ABC HD).

Where is this option with Quantum?  I could not find it anywhere.  Please don't tell me this is not possible.

It's not possible on quantum yet. When the new guide update gets pushed out then it will be available. When will the new guide get pushed put? Rumor is by the end of the year.

That's disappointing.  So far I have not had a good experience with Quantum.

When I first got the boxes and tried to install them myself, I kept getting a "Connection not detected" message.  After hours on the phone with support, we still could not get it working.  Had a repair tech come by yesterday who also got the same message.  After some trouble shooting he finally found that the original splitter Verizon put in with regular Fios was not compatible with Quantum.  Once he replaced that everything seemed to go through properly and the cable was working.

However, as I posted in another thread, I am unable to pause live TV on any box besides the VMS.  I wish I would have checked that while the tech was there but didn't think of it at the time.

??ON a Verizon box.  Not that I know of.  Was it included in the NEW Motorola IMG that is still rolling out?

It is a well known request and may eventually be an option.

I was able to do this when I had regular Fios (non-Quantum).  There was an option under settings to automatically tune to the HD version of the channel.  I believe my box was a Cisco.

On my Motorola box I can press the red "C" button (on the remote) to switch to the HD channel (if available). Might work for you too.

That's the way I'm doing it currently (pressing the "C" button) but apparently that is too much work for my wife.  I get annoyed when I walk in the room and she's watching the standard def version of the channel.  🙂

 I have quantum so it still the same settings just a little bit further in the menu. Go to settings_System_television. Then go down the menu do you get to autotune to HD channels.Select that option hit yes. Then come out and go to one of your regular channels. Like channel 2 ABC in New Jersey goes to an HD channel automatically.
