HD VOD - Pixels and no sound when watching HD VOD on more than one HD Set Top Box

When trying to watch HD VOD content on more than one HD set top box, the TV display turns to pixels and the sound turns off on all sets accessing HD VOD content.  In other words, HD VOD can only be viewed on one HD set top box at a time.  It shouldn't matter how many HD boxes are attempting to view/access HD VOD content, it should just work.  If it is a bandwidth issue, then Verizon should increase the bandwidth so that HD VOD content can be viewed on as many HD set top boxes a customer has at the same time. Otherwise, Verizon should give all customers renting more than one HD set top box a discount/credit.

Hi pc-va,

Unfortunately this is a limitation of the network.  "The current FiOS TV network and the in-home network have recommended limits on the number of VOD sessions a subscriber can view simultaneously."

Recommended limits

  • Three Standard Definition VOD requests

or

  • One High Definition VOD request

or

  • One High Definition and Two Standard Definition request

Perhaps in the future the limits may be increased. For now, keep in mind that you can access the same HD VOD title on other HD stbs for up to 24 hrs at no additional cost, just not all at the same time.  Sorry for any inconvenience.
