HDMI Cable replaced with Component Cables

Over a year ago I had problems with the HD box connecting to my TV with the HDMI cable.  I was sent a set of Component Cables which work, but I want to use HDMI.  I was told there was  a problem with the HD boxes by a Verizon rep.  Has this problem been solved and can I get a new HD box in order to utilize an HDMI cable to watch Fios TV?

Re: HDMI Cable replaced with Component Cables

I would think the easiest way to answer that question would be to unoplug the component cables and plug in an HDMI cable and see.  The problem has to do with compatibility issues between the STB and certain models of TV (with as picky as HDMI seems to be, one could easily argue that the problem is as much the TV's as it is the STB0.  A large majority of folks are running via HDMI today with no issues.
