High capacity DVR display won't stay off.

The new high capacity DVR has a VERY bright display (as mentioned in other forum posts). I followed the suggestion of changing the DVR setting to turn the LED display completely off when the box is off. Great, now I don't wake up in the middle of the night with the bedroom lit up by this stupidly bright display. Except last night and again a week ago. I woke up both times to a lit up room and the clock display on, i.e. the DVR was off and not recording. Going to the settings the setting to mage the display off when the box is off was lost and I had to set it up again!

It seems VERY suspicious to me that this setting is getting lost in the middle of the night. Are Verizon resetting my box and losing this setting? Any suggestions for making the setting stick?

Yes, Verizon does do periodic random resets overnight, but that is not supposed to cause you to lose your settings.

You could test to see if a reset is causing your issue by going to the menu and forcing a reboot.
