My wife and I just upgraded to a new and better FiOS package and we got new receivers. I've tried numerous times to program ONLY the channels I want to watch via the Favorites folder. The technician said that this option ONLY works through the Guide service.
Previously, all I had to do was program them once, and then I could move up and down on my channel button and only watch the channels I programmed as favorites.
There are numerous channels I don't care anything about and don't want to have to use the GUIDE to reach just my favorites.
Surely they didn't get rid of this when I "upgraded" my system?

Works exactly the same way it did before.
Program your favorites.
Make sure that the option to remember last guide option is enabled.
Then set guide to Favorites.
