Multi-room DVR - I have had to reset every day for three straight days

Did verizon recently upgrade the sw on the multi-room DVR? I have been experiencing repetitive problems with the unit since the beginning of the year. The unit freezes and/or does not allow recording to be viewed on the other set top devices without a hard power off (need to physically unplug from the wall). It is getting a bit frustrating to have to reset on such a frequent basis.

A new img 1.9.5 is in the middle of rollout.  May have reached your VHO.  Not likely to be causing your problem unless the install failed to complete.  Check your Box to see if it was updated.  I don't remember the instruction off hand, but there is a way to force a reinstall.

May however be a sign of your DVR failing, often hard drive problems cause symptoms you are mentioning.
