Old DirecTV TIVO box - can it be used with FIOS for DVR functionality?

I have an old DirecTV TIVO box and want to know if I can use it for DVR functionality with FIOS?  Anyone?

At best you will be able to record whatever the STB is tuned to (assuming the DVR has a composite or S-Video input) that you can connect to from the STB. Only the local channels are typically 'unscrambled', and they are in QAM format, which I seriously doubt your DirecTV has a tuner for QAM. I have both an original Panasonic Showstopper, and the later Replay TV (which Directv bought)  and these units had composite and S-Video input and output. However even with the IR 'Blaster', the are no codes in the unit to operate the Motoroal STB's.

There will be no program guide at all.

The DirecTV Tivo will only decode and play the DTV satellite signal.  It will not accept any other video source.  In fact, it has no inputs other than the coax from the dish.   It's really just a DirecTV STB with Tivo software.
