PC as DVR

Wtih a FIOS top box, can I use my Windows 7 Ultimate PC to recrod shows? I have a trip to China soon and I'd like to record some shows to pass time. Would I be able to record some channels with a TV Tuner like this?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815116034

What steps would I need to follow to record TV? I have a Motorola QIP7100 2 set top box. Do I just plug in a regular Coax cable from the RF TV Out port into the TV Tuner? The manual says that "Ch 3/4 audio/video (SDTV) to TV or VCR" Is there a way to record in HD?

Finally?  Am I only allowed to record certain channels? Can I record things such as some stuff from ShowTime, ESPN, etc...

I can't get a PCI one becuase my GTX 590 is in the top PCIE x16 slot and if I place a TV Tuner in the PCI slot right in front of it, it'll block too much airflow. My last PCI slot is occupied by a USB 2.0 PCI Card

Re: PC as DVR

You could use that tuner to record your shows. Any channel will be recordable. You would have to record it in real time as its being played on the DVR.
