PPPoE connection switches to DHCP

My router defaults to DHCP whenever there is a power outage.  I lose guide data and slow response from STBs.  I have had techs out to the house 2 times after several hours on the phone.  The techs were there for over 10 hours combined.

My ONT was replaced 3 times. Router 4 times, all STBs are new.  Line from ONT to Router was replaced 2 times as well as house wiring.  I must go into the router and switch back to PPPoE.  I have sent several emails which obviously are not read, because I get the same response that I must contact via phone.  I have typed messages indicating that the emails are not being read and I still get the exact email response.  There should be a way to have the router default to PPPoE so I do not have to go and reset it each time.
