Preparing to switch from using old TV to a newer LCD HDTV

I'm pretty sure the sensors on my old tube TV are no longer working, because none of my FiOS remote devices works well any more. (I replaced batteries, cleaned TV surfaces, tried 3 different FiOS remotes.)

When FiOS was installed in my home, the technicians hooked up an HDTV in a spare bedroom. My "main" hook-up was with the old TV. It's where the multi-room DVR hook-up is.

Can I simply replace the old TV with the newer HDTV? Or how should I research whether I have the correct FiOS equipment to replace the old tube TV with the HDTV?

Here is the equipment I have:

  • Model:QIP7232-P2
  • U/A:0000047224690244

I think the above is my "main" hook-up because Verizon calls this DVR 1.

  • Model:QIP7100-P2
  • U/A:0000047743300028

I think the above is my 2nd/HDTV hookup in the spare bedroom.

Thanks in advance.

Both of the models you named are HD STBs.   So all you need to do is connect your new HDTV.

...ideally with an HDMI (or component if necessary) cable so that you get full HD.
