Problem with FIOS TV

On the PBS station a "box" appears in the lower right hand corner of the screen. In the box is a repeat of part of what is on the screen. This box appears no matter what FIOS STB I use-- FIOS DVR, HD STB or Standard STB. How can I remove this box.

Does this happen only on PBS? Is it happening all day long? What you are describing sounds a lot like picture-in-picture but I don't know why it would occur only on one channel. And not on all 3 sets.

Gary Doug: I tried to reply to the suggestion, typed my response, only to have it disappear when I tried to preview the response. I continue to have problems with all aspects of Verizon FIOS.. Will try again to respond after I send this msg.

GaryDoug, After several days, the problem mysteriously disappeared as mysteriously as it appeared. Thanks for your interest. FYI, in answer to your question, the strange box only appeared on the PBS station. The box appeared on all 3 of my TVs:  one with a DVR STB, one with an HD STB, and one with a Standard STB. As far as I know, I don't have picture in picture on any of my TVs--2 Sonys and one Samsung.. It would be nice to know why the "strange box" appared so I could get rid of it in case it happened again, but I'm just happy the problem is gone. I have other problems with FIOS but I'll have to start other message topics for them. Thanks again.

Your description makes it sound like the station itself was sending the signal out that way, or maybe the local Verizon FiOS installation was somehow corrupting the signal (I don't really believe that, I have never seen anything like that in 5 years, but....). If it happens again, I suggest you contact others that use FiOS and someone using cable to see if they are seeing the same thing on that channel. I just can't imagine any way that the FiOS boxes themselves, all of them in your house, could be doing it, or that there is any way for you to get rid of it yourself.

Anyway, glad to hear the problem is gone for now. And for sure search the forums for your other issues and if you don't find answers then create some threads, there are plenty of people here who will try to help.
