QIP7232 LED's to Bright

I just swapped out my QIP6416 for a QIP7232 and the LED's on the QIP7232 are way to bright. I really like the new look and functionality of the QIP7232 especially the 500GB hard drive and eSATA connection, but they need to add a feature so that customers can adjust the brightness to their liking, since some room situations require a brighter/dimmer display than others. I would think that 4-6 levels of adjustment would satisfy most of the customer needs.

I agree. I ended up turning the display off when the box turns off. But i do miss having a clock in that location.

You can also try placing a film over the display. I used automotive window tint that I purchased down at the local auto store. Two layers of "smoke" window tint made it very nice.  Now I dont know where the IR window is on the front display, so I was carefull to only cover the numbers. I have had no functionality issues since and the light level is now perfect for me.  I've done the same thing on most of the digital clocks in my house, they always seem to be too bright.

Did almost the same thing to mine. $2 worth of red transparent film from a Staples folder cover. Perfect. FYI... the IR sensor is about 3/4" to the right of the display.
