HI, RECENTLY ONE OF MY REMOTE CONTROLS (VOLUME NOT WORKING) WE CALL FOR TECHNICAL HELP AND THE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY HELPFUL BUT INFORMED US THAT OUR REMOTE WASNOT WORKING AND THAT WE NEEDED A NEW ONE AT THE PRICE OF $14.99 i ASK HIM WHY FOR IN THE PAST I JUST HAD TO SEND THE OLD ONE IN ONCE I GOT THE NEW ONE . I WAS TOLD THAT THE NEW PRACTICE IS TO CHARGE $14.99 FOR THE REMOTES THAT ARE NOT WORKING I HAVE 5 BOXES AND REMOTES IN MY HOUSE ALL VERIZON EQUIPMENT ,ALL INSTALLED AT THE SAME TIME SO I WOULD THINK ALL REMOTESONE BY ONE WILL BE DYING ON ME AND I WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE NEW ONES .I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY SATISFIED WITH VERIZON BUT THIS LITTLE INCIDENT IS WHAT ANGERS COSTUMERS .IS NOT THAT THERE MIGHT NOT BE SERVICE DUE TO A STORM OR POWER FAILURE IN THE AREA SOMETHING VERIZON HAS NO CONTROL OVER, BUT IS THIS LITTLE NICENESS THAT WHERE GIVEN TO THE COSTUMER AND NOW HAVE A $ VALUE THAT BOTHERS US AND DISATISFY US . JUST A HEADS UP CONSIDER YOUR CLIENTS SO THEY WILL STAY LOYAL TO YOU. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME {edited for privacy}.

I agree with this assessment. Verizon uses microprint to send out changes in policy but it does not honor original contracts established prior to their changes. Of course, the legal staff has microfont to show how vulnerable the consumer is. It is nickel and dime in the purest sense. One could spend over $4000/year with Verizon on a full service home account (including mobile phone service) BUT it wants to charge $14.99 for a device that originally was replaced ACCORDING TO VERIZON'S agreement with the customer. Is it any wonder that Netflix and the like are beginning to take away Verizon and other types of customers?

I didn't know about this. We've had the same remotes for over three years now. Hopefully they will last
a little longer - makes me wonder if somewhere there is a repair depot and an eBay account.
