My Fios TV remote has recently stopped responding for certain aspects eg Guide, DVR, menu buttons etc will not work. The remote still powers the tv so I can turn it on and off and control the volume as normal. I have tried reprogramming the remote and changing the batteries and nothing seems to work. Really annoying as I can't change the channel or access anything on my DVR. Help!

Why do some but not all buttons ona P265v3 remote not work? They did originally when the FIOS technician set up the connection. Attempting to reprogram the remote has not worked. New batteries so that it is not the problem.

Have you all ordered a new remote from Verizon? You can do so from the Customer Support area of the STB main menu. They are free.

Beakable,
While it could be the remote, it is possible that it could be a problem with the DVR. Try using the buttons on the face of the DVR to control it. If these function, then it probably is a faulty remote. If they do not, unplug the DVR and plug it back in. This will cause a basic reset that may restore functionality.
merson6,
Which buttons do not work? The ones that control the STB or the ones that control the TV?
PJL,
Thank you for posting this info. I had only known about the ability to order new remotes for $12-$15. I did not know that you could get a $12 P265 2-device remote for free.

the problems with verizon are endemic. when you contact them, they will have you running around doing this and that. they seldom take the responsibility.
