For the past couple months the sound on some channels, mostly History/Sciencce HD and wsbk 38 would become scrambles or choppy then shut off completely. If I hit Pause on the DVR it will come back and I can rewind the DVR to hear what I missed , but I find this incredibly annoying when trying to just enjoy TV.
Also It seems when I swich channels sometime my TV will randomly just shut off. I find this to be the more annoying problem as it takes a little while to boot up. The TV is not plugged into the box, but into its own outlet on the power strip. I dont know if the box is sending no signal causing the TV to shut off.
Im pretty sure both problems are related to the DVR Box and not the TV I can play xbox and PS3 without any issues.

One possibility is that your TV has a feature that allows signal loss to turn off the set. Another one is a signal communication method that uses another device to control your TV power. On one of my sets, a Panasonic, that is called EZ Sync. My Panasonic actually has both "signal loss shutoff" and "EZ sync" shutoff. Whatever it's called on your set, try setting them (or it) to OFF.
