Is that for an HD or SD Tivo box?
If it's HD, how many hours will it record?

idk if the sale is still going on but the sd was 49 bux and the hd was 99 bux. i can't remember the HD size, because I was going to just slap a tb hd on it anyway.

Someone on Avsforum.com said that Tivos can't access VOD. Can anyone who uses Tivo with a cable card confirm or deny?

You are asking questions i am looking answres too. I have now DirectTV with DVR service and FIOS will be available by the end of July. But reading forums about really terrible Motorola DVR with just 20 hours HD capacity, problems with HDMI sound, etc. etc., I m really afraid to sign for triple bundle although my DSL internet is really terrible - slow, slow slow... I have a question to Verizon with no avail - when new Motorola DVR will be available? They are testing it now but how long it will take for Verizon to finally offer them to customers? In my view verizon is a company badly managed and, so it's almost impossible to get any information from them. I will probably wait until they will announce new DVR as I am sure it will be difficult to replace old one box especially in the 1st year.

TIVO is additional expense, (additional hardware and monthly expense).
My reason wanting to switch to fios was to save money, I am paying about $85 for direct tv. Fios triple play would have been around $120 (for 3 services) with DVR and taxes.
Sure TiVo is additional expense in hardware but you might be able to pickup a refurb Tivo HD and you can get a lifetime sub on it. I've got lifetime on my Tivo HD and my previous 3 TiVos. The first two passed their "breakeven" point ages ago.

I'm using Tivo HD w/CableCARD and I'm 90% sure there's no way to do VOD w/only those two pieces of hardware. I don't care though. I'd much rather have TiVo than Verizon's DVRs. I rented one for a week when my Tivo HD's hard drive went belly up. No thanks, esp. not for the monthly fee they're asking. (I have lifetime on my Tivo HD and have been a Tivo user since 2001.)

tivo's have their own vod, ala netflix and amazon etc... but they can not access verizon VOD.
in order to access vz vod you need to have a set top box from verizon.
