I can hear the sound but i cannot see the picture its just black

It doesn't work when I tried to fix it. In Verizon box, there is a red light on "relplacing batteries' 

I am not sure but I think that is the reason

What type of tv? I had this happen with a Vizio and it was the tv. Try attaching the box to another tv to determine whether it is the box or the tv. If tv, I found a YouTube video showing the easy fix. One of the boards had blown. Ordered a new one and popped it in.

The replace battery light is for the ONT battery backup and is not required for service. The battery is for phone service only. Replacing it will not fix the issue with the tv picture.

Check all connections (coaxial, HDMI, etc.), unplug and plug back in to reboot the box. If this doesnt fix it, call Verizon.
