From all the posts about new 320G Motorola DVR, I am still not clear will this new box be able to hook up to the external harddrive through USB? 320GB is certainly much better but getting external recording capacity is big plus

I'll test one!!!! PLEASE VERIZON!!!! Smiley Very Happy

Heck, I would even go out and buy a 2 TB drive to throw into an external case to test the USB connectivity.

Perhaps I should wait to have Fios installed until these come out... or will I not have any issues getting one of these after having the current box?

Verizon will swap out the older box; they will ship you the new one and send a prepaid return label for the old box.  Be aware that it will be another six to nine months before the QIP7232 is available to most customers (ETA October/November).

Hopefully it will come with much higher quality video support... current systems really suck on video quality.

jmercado567 - I think 99% of FiOS customers would disagree with you. There are a lot of problems that come up on this forum, but very few of them have to do with FiOS having low-quality video.

I doubt this STB will have any significant changes to that, since all FiOS video is uncompressed.

I've yet to hear anyone ever complain about video quality.  Everyone that comes over and see's the quality of my picture is impressed.  Its the best picture I've seen on a TV yet.

Yep. In Sept. I will have had FiOS TV for 5 years, and I have never, ever seen a better picture on anybody else's TV using cable or satellite, even though my HD TV is 4+ years old. If the HD picture quality is bad, something very bad is wrong, either a setting in the STB or TV or in the cabling in the house or in the fiber connections or in the central office. For anybody that has poor HD picture quality, I suggest they see if their neighbors with FiOS see the same thing; if so, the problem is problably outside the house.

A common cause for poor picture is a loose coax connection or a defective splitter.

Just some thoughts.

I will gladly test a box as well!  If anyone knows how to sign up for the Beta, please let me know!

Thanks!
