my set top box is down and will not boot up. I have been on the phone for 64 minutes waiting for support to help. Does anyone know the number for comcast, and will I be able to get verizon to give me back my cell phone minutes they are wasting?

Just so you know, you're talking to other Verizon customers here. If you have an actual issue that you think other customers can help you with, you'll need to post details.
As far as I know, Verizon does not pay any attention to threats to change service posted here.
Have you tried www.comcast.com? Their web site does a good job describing their offerings and provides phone numbers should you prefer human contact.
You may want to check out sites like dslreports.com for reviews of various ISPs including Comcast.
