My insignia 42" LCD won't work with the Motorola STB HDMI cable, but works with the component cables just fine.
The picture comes in for about a minute with no audio but then goes black. I hear this is not uncommon. Is there a fix?

Look for a patch from your TV manufacturer for this HDMI Handshake issue. -But you have to have a usb port on your TV to be able to install it. otherwise, the component cable still gives you high def.

This is a known issue with HDMI and the HDCP handshake - thank the folks that shoved DRM down the hardware peoples throats. The work around (as others have said) is to use component cables. This is not just an issue with Verizon's STB but many devices. If you go to the AVS form and search you will find many devices that have HDMI issues such as yours.
