Changing splitter location

When I had my FIOS installed, I had TV only installed upstairs from one coax outlet, and then downstairs, I had TV and my FIOS modem installed from the same outlet with a splitter the technician provided.  Now I want to move my FIOS modem upstairs and split it off from the upstairs outlet.  This seems simple to me - as in I can just take the splitter and modem from downstairs to upstairs and re-connect.  I just wanted to make sure this would not cause problems because the signal downstairs might become "too strong" because its not split, or the signal upstairs might become "too weak" because it is split.  Thanks for your input.

Nope, shouldnt have any issues at all. It should be exactly that easy.

Now it is possible that the downstairs will have too strong a signal after removing the splitter, but this is extremely unlikely. Thats one of the benefits of moca, you can move the router to any location that has a cable connection.
