Most likely, you are asking how to change your wireless connection's password, well to do this you need to login to your router first.  Go into a web browser and type in https://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.1.1, if you use https you will have to click past the normal SSL certificate warning, but it is okay because you are logging into Your Router.  Now you will see a login box which is asking for a different password than your wireless password, this is your router's login password.  If you have never changed your router's username and password it should be (user: ) ADMIN  and (password) PASSWORD.

However if anybody has changed that already than you need to find out what your user login and password are for your router.  More info Here:

If you are able to get in with admin and password, it will be a good idea to change this also.

Hopefully you will be able to get into the router's administration panel, then from there you will go to Wireless Settings

Here is a nice pdf from actiontek on how to change your wireless settings, https://www.actiontec.com/products/datasheets/How%20to%20change%20your%20wireless%20settings%20veriz...

Hopefully you can change it now.

The password is probably not "password".

Early on installers use to change it to "password1". But a couple of years ago they got worried about a security exposure and changed all the passwords that were set to "password" or "password1" to match the serial number of the router.  More recently the newer routers actually have a different password listed on the sticker on the router.

reseting the router may change it back to "password", the value on the sticker or may ask you to set the password on first logon.
