Portal Partner Sub-account Switch

[ Edited ]
I switched my Verizon portal partner from Yahoo to Windows Live w/o any problems.  At the Windows Live sign in page, I can sign in with my email address.  The problem is with a sub-account I manage.  At the Windows Live sign in page my sub-account user with an email address can't sign in to Windows Live.  The error relates to the domain name, so it seems only the primary email account is recognized.  I even created an email account with the same prefix as the Verizon sub-account and tried linking them but it didn't work.  It also shouldn't be necessary to have 2 separate accounts when an account exists as a portal partner.  How can I migrate my sub-account over to work the same way as the primary email account?
