Possible SSDP incompatibility - FIOS router MI424WR

Router: MI424WR

Here's the problem:

I have a Samsung TV connected via ethernet cable to the FIOS router.

I have a Samsung App installed on my IPhone that allows me to control my TV.

The Samsung App is unable to detect the TV on the network.

Here's what I know:

When I use my old netgear router instead of the FIOS router, the Samsung App is able to detect the TV

I used wireshark and this is what I found:

137.53.8.1 - Netgear Router

137.53.8.2 - IPhone

137.53.8.6 - Samsung TV

The IPhone issues the following (actually several of these are issued).  This is the search

65    31.440449000     137.53.8.2      239.255.255.250   SSDP 193    M-SEARCH * HTTP/1.1

within a few sec the following is issued by the TV.  This is a response to the search

79    40.656601000     137.53.8.6     239.255.255.250    SSDP 341    NOTIFY * HTTP/1.1

Now, with the FIOS router:

192.168.1.1 - FIOS Router

192.168.1.4 - IPhone

192.168.1.5 - Samsung TV

The IPhone issues the following (actually several of these are issued).  This is the search

186729.463662000192.168.1.4239.255.255.250SSDP193M-SEARCH * HTTP/1.1

The response (SSDP Notify)  is never seen.

Using a 'ping' app on my IPhone I was able to ping the TV from the IPhone.

The TV can also access the internet just fine (e.g. samsung youtube app)

Here's what I've tried:

Logged into router, advanced settings, I've enabled both check boxes for universal plug and play and rebooted the router.  Did not solve the issue.

Would appreciate any help / tips.  Thanks.

Try disabling the IGMP proxy.

Click on the Advanved icon.
Select IGMP proxy from the menu.
Select Disabled from the first pulldown.
Click Apply.

Please post back if that works.
