Why are sub account members who use the community forums no longer able to sign in and are told they do not have an account.  They sign in with community user accounts

Hi topdog,

The new Community sign-in page defaults to the "Sign In with a My Verizon Residential User ID" option.  Are you expanding and using the "Sign In with a Community Only User ID" option below it?

I solved this myself. I now get a sign in page for Forums Community User.

Evidently you have to do something you never had to do before to get the page where you sign in as Community User.

I never read about any changes for signing into the Forums. I did know Verizon was changing things for signing into Home Page and email for security, but not for Forums. But then again I haven't been to Forums for months.

PS The only thing I notice is it says you can stay signed into forums but that doesn't work and I have to sign out from my Home Page/Email and sign in again to Forums. I have been able to continue to stay signed into  Home Page and Email. Since I don't go on the Forums with a message and/or reply very often,  I am not too bothered by that stay signed in feature listed for Forums that doesn't work.

The only way I've found to NOT be kept signed on to the home page is to manually sign out else it appears that you are signed on for ever.
This actually is a pain as the same is not true for the forums and when you close the window you are signed out of the forums.  Unfortunately that means when you next go to the home page it shows you signed on but you cannot sign on to the forums, presummably the sso token is invalid?  That means you ahev to sign out from the home page, sign back into the home page and then you will be allowed to sign on to the forums.

Another mystery that the developers managed to test thoroughly

Here's how I solved the problem. I have Windows Vista with IE9 so I don't use that browser very often. I also have Google Chrome as browser so I stay signed in for 2 weeks to the Verizon Home Page and Verizon Email. I use the IE9 for Verizon Forums and stay signed in for writing messages and replying to messages on the Verizon Forums. It will say sign in for answering, asking or repyling to the Forums. However, just click on Sign In and you will see you are signed in for 2 weeks even if you go off the browser. If you have 2 browsers you could also do the same. I am a Community User with a sub account. The person in my family with the main account is a Residential User on the Forums so doesn't have this problem because once the main account user is signed into the Verizon Home Page and Email the main user is automatically signed in for 2 weeks to the Forums as well.
