Upgrading to 100/100 internet or 150/150 internet

I currently have 75/75 internet and want something fast. I wanted to go with either 100/100 or 150/150. When I try to upgrade it wants to send a tech out. I talked ot billing and tech support and they say the ONT needs to be upgraded from coax only to coax and ethernet, and that I need to be swtiched from coax to ethernet. The problem is my ONT is in the basement. And my router is on the second floor. And I have everything set up in a certain way so that I get perfet signal and speed all throughout my home.

I don't want to move my router or anything else. I wouldn't want to move the new ONT or drill and new wholes for an ethernet connection. I know that other cable providers are able to get speeds of up to 300 Mbps over coax. Are there any suggestions for my situation?

Thank you.

The only way to get more than 75Mbps is to take Ethernet to the ONT. The tech roll is to install the Ethernet connection for you. That is unfortunatley the only way Verizon will do the install. Unless Verizon upgrades your router to a G1100, with MoCa 2.0 support and they can offer an ONT with MoCA 2.0... then that'll handle 100Mbps or 150Mbps, whatever you choose to go with. Fat chance they'll use Coax with that though.

I currently have the G1100 or quantum gateway.

So what is the next step, can I still upgrade to the 100/150 and use coax only?

Moca 2 is only between cable boxes. If you have vms. vms to ipc connection is moca 2. If you want a fast connection why would you want to stay on coax. Verizon doesnt even support that speed over coax, so why would you want to. Dont forget you are also need to account for the bandwidth need for data to the cable boxes which is in addition to the internet bandwidth.

Verizon currently wants ethernet installed on any speed 75 and above. If you order 100 or above you must use ethernet. However;  you may use coax if you are at 75 or below.
