Newbie

we are getting fios tv and internet installed on tuesday and i was wondering if there is a way to connect my linksys range expander with the verizon router because we need the range expander to send the signal to the back of the house.

will i have to have my linksys router connected with the fios one to get this or is the linksys range expander able to be connected with the verizon router?

thanks for the help

You could use an existing router as Hub/Switch/Wap.

See

portforward.com --> Forums -> Knowledge Base -> Use a Second Router as Hub/Switch/Wap.

AND OR see

Can you use a range expander (this assumes that you have one), perhaps.

While I do not have any experience using a range expander, I can tell this: Be sure to follow the manual/user's guide that comes with.

I that is that a Linksys WRE54G it should be able to connect with no issue to the Verizon FiOS router.

Not sure what this meant

will i have to have my linksys router connected with the fios one to get this or is the linksys range expander able to be connected with the verizon router?.

Did you mean you used to have a linksys router connected to your previous isp modem/router and the the range expander connected to the linksys router?  If so that would still work also so long as you change the linksys router to a base address other than 192.168.1.x and you do the same on the expander - you will need to do this as the default base for the fios router is 192.168.1.1 and evne though you could change that it would be more hassle than it's worth.
