Hallmark Movie Channel

I am disappointed with the failure to communicate that hallmark movie channel 239 was removed from those who have the extreme hd package and you have to upgrade to the ultimate hd to get a single channel where all the other ultimate channels are not really worth getting. this change although initiated in july 2009 did not become effective untill october 14th 2010.

there was little or no warning that this channel would be removed from my lineup in the days prior to the change becoming effective

Please offer this channel as a single channel addon or move it back to the extreme HD package.

1) Please keep in mind this is a peer-to-peer forum. Addressing your post to Verizon will not make it be read by anyone from Verizon.

2) If your HMC was removed last week, then I was part of the same group with it being removed. There was a splash screen popup when I turned on each of my STBs two weeks ago, leading me to my messages inbox on the STB. From there, it led me to a URL to go to for more information. So assuming you also got those alerts, I think that is sufficient notice from Verizon.

3) This change was initiated in January 2010, not July 2009.

This has been being discussed ad-nauseum for months ... the removal of Hallmark and a number of other channels from the Extreme tier is a well known change at this point.  Search is your friend ....

Adamdashner,  I'd bet this FiOS TV Programming thread is monitored by Verizon...and closely.  You took the time to complain about a programming issue that was important to you.  Thumbs up from your peer.

I never saw any of that and my mom just saw it gone on the 14th and flipped out. seems like if the change was made back in july of last year it should have happened a lot sooner. she is the only one who watches it anyways.

Also I was dissapointed with the customer service I received and finally had to talk to three people before someone would tell me what was going on.

Apparently Verizon decided to roll this change out gradually to different areas of the country. I lost that channel many months ago, fairly early in the rollout. I wasn't happy, but Verizon clearly has the right to change the content based on what they say in their Terms of Service, which we all agreed to when we got the service. Plus, as someone else said, I got notification via a message on the STB that that channel and the others were being removed, plus every forum in the world I think that covers FiOS had thread after thread about it. So it should not have come as a surprise to anybody (but then again, I suspect most FiOS TV users never, ever look at the messages on their STBs, and they really should if they don't want to be surprised when things change).

I, too, did not receive notification of the change regarding HMC. I do not read the "Message" because they were always about boxing, so I learned to ignore them. I left Comcast as a provider because they "dropped" channels, and I signed on to FIOS because the promo said that they would not "drop" channels. I am so tired of dealing with services that fail to "keep their word". Shame on us for continuing to ignore the betrayal by service providers.

Perhaps it is time to check out Comcast's sevice.

Well perhaps you should read the messages from now on Smiley Very Happy

Not to defend Verizon, I too was disappointed when I found out I was going to lose that channel, but.....

I have had FiOS TV for over 5 years now, in that time Verizon has added a big bunch of channels and dropped a few. And since I bothered to read the Terms of Service I knew they could/might/perhaps would drop channels - did you bother to read the TOS before you signed up, or when you signed up? And as for a "promo" saying they would not drop channels, I would love to know what promo you are referring to - an ad on TV or in the mail, something a sales person said at your door or on the phone, what? I am just curious, as I have never seen a promo like that, at least that I can remember, if there really was such a promo I would also be pretty upset.

And again, just curious, you left Comcast because they "dropped" channels, and now you might go back to Comcast because Verizon "dropped" some channels? Wow! Why would you go back? As  said, just curious, but that logic escapes me.

And finally, good luck finding any provider that does not drop (and happily add) channels over time. I am pretty sure they all do it. But maybe you do know something I don't.

Bummer!  I turned my stb on at 2.00 a.m. expecting to watch a Hallmark movie and to my surprise, I thought that my stb was defective. I went through all of the procedures to make repairs ( reset, pullout ac plug, called verizon. Could not fine solution until I found this forum. What can I say but Bummer!
