Local weather is not correct for my area

I live in northern Baltimore County Maryland.  As most locals know, the weather here is not the same as the weather in southern Baltimore County.  When I had Comcast, the "Local on the 8's" local weather forecast was for northern Baltimore County.  With FiOS, the "Local on the 8's" local weather forecast is for southern Baltimore County (the most northern area noted on the local map is Randallstown).  The Local Weather ID (this scroll's across the bottom of the screen during the 8's) is 26781.  I don't know what the Local Weather ID is for northern Baltimore County, but it does exist, just ask any Comcast customer who lives north of Baltimore City.

Come on Verizon, lets get this one fixed. It seems that a few of us, around the country, are interested in getting this issue resolved.

Using widgets is not the answer. Just set up the correct Local Weather ID for my area.

Funny, where I live, widgets show one temperature for my zip code while www.weather.com for my zip code shows something else.  I've seen them off by as much as 5 degrees at times.

Wrong-

Unfortunately, VZ only installs 1 Intellistar at each VHO for the Weather Channel's local information. That's likely what you are witnessing.  Out of VHO8, the local forecast is always for Philadelphia, despite the fact that Delaware and South Jersey are served out of this region.

Heck, some customers in Southern DE can't even see their home on the local radar.

Until VZ installs more of these servers, you won't see a difference. My advice is to watch Weatherscan Local on Channel 49 - seems they make this one a little more regional.

May I assume you are not talking about Ch 49, Local Weather? The national feed for the Weather Channel itself is regionalized "on the eights", but actual local weather is found on Ch 49 derived from Weather Channel sources. Or is there another issue I don't see?

Apparently not everywhere (yet?). Here in North Texas when the "on the 8s" starts on 619, they just show a map of the country and then go around and show the general weather conditions in each of the areas of the country. Other areas of the country may get their "on the 8s" now, but we don't. But we do get the local weather on 49 continuously (although for a while some weeks back they had the national feed on 49 also).
