Twice a week, my Motorola QIP7232-2 resets (?) itself while I'm watching TV. The picture on the screen freezes before it goes blank. Then the STB blinks 8888, then that is replaced with a solid circular light to the right, then the TV screen says "please wait." Then 8888 starts again, etc. The only thing I can do is to unplug the STB and wait a while. When it's plugged in again, I get the FIOS screen that says "initial download in progress." This is getting annoying, especially as it seems to happen a few minutes after I turn on the TV.
How many times a week does something need to be downloaded? Surely, FIOS doesn't send updates that often.
Do I need to return it and get a box that actually works?
It sounds like either the signal to that STB is borderline or the STB itself is no good.
