I am trying to figure out how the DVR works as we just got fios installed last month.
I have used the auto-fix option all on the televisions in the house and refreshed the devices. I have additionally browsed the In-Home Agent program on my computer and watched the step-by-step diagrams on how to record via "From the Guide" and "from the DVR menu in the Guide."
Using the "From the Guide" diagram, when I press the record button on my remote, all it does is sets a reminder. It will not record.
Using the "From the DVR menu in the Guide" diagram the "create a recording" option is not an option in the listing.
What is my problem and how do I fix it? Thank you.

Please supply the model number of the STB you have because it sounds like a non-DVR box. My own non-DVR behaves as you describe, as it should.

On sticker on the box.
In Settings, system information.

Data Object Version # 30.95
Release 1.9
The sticker on the box lists several numbers, not sure which one was the model number. One number that may resemble a model number is: 105-125V
We have 3 set-boxes in the house, they are all responding the same.

Did you manage to resolve this issue?
I returned from vacation to see the userguide had been upgraded and all my recorded shows and scheduled shows had gone. I am unable to schedule any recordings and when I press the record button it just sets a reminder. I'm also unable to pause or rewind live tv.
After an hour on the phone they are going to replace the DVR.....

Just a suggestion: If you haven't already done so, try pulling the power plug on the DVR, wait 20-30 seconds, plug it back in and let it go through the startup, then see if your recordings show up and the other stuff works. I have no idea if this will help, when my DVR was upgraded some weeks ago I did not experience what you have seen, but you never know, Verizon's DVRs sometimes just seem to lose their mind and do strange things, and pulling the power sometimes helps.
