Is there a reason to remove programs from DVR?

After watching a show and deleting it, is there any need, or benefit, to take the extra step of going into "Manage Deletions" and selecting "Remove from DVR?"

I've never bothered expunging deleted programs.  The DVR manages space just fine.

I do find it handy when my wife deletes something I want to see.  The deleted programs tend to hang around for a few days or more in my household, so it's a useful function.

IF you run with very little space, deleting all of them you are sure you don't want to restore will help a little.  Otherwise no.
