The remote only works every two to 2,3 or sometimes 4 pushes of any button on my HD box. I have tried the remote on a regular STB and it works fine. I also tried the remote from another room on this box and it works for a minute then starts the same problem. The remote is less then 6 feet directly in front and level with the HD box with no obstructions. Is there a fix or solution for this or should my box be replaced?
I know its a silly question, but have you changed the batteries? What you describe is a symptom of low batteries.
sometimes the 7100 and plasma/lcd/led tv's have a problem with one another. they make remote ir extenders, and verizon can send you one or you can go to a store and grab one. I heard some people even change the picture default to a different setting. the default one from the store that you bought it was meant to be on display and so its the most brilliant picture that you can get which is great and all but may not be neccessary in your home, so if you change it off the highest picture quality setting to a middle grade one then that might also fix it.
