STB turning TV on at night?

Most mornings when I get up my TV is on, the STB is off. I turn the TV off and a couple of hours later the TV is on again. (the STB is off) The STB is a Motorola HD DVR 6416-2. I did not have this problem with Comcast, but have always had it with FIOS. Is there a setting that I am missing, or perhaps the set up is incorrect? Thanks for any help.

Last person I read that was having this problem found a remote in the cusion that was randomly getting hit and turning the TV on. The Verizon STB has no transmitter so it can't by itself turn the TV on.
