Verizon Fios Question

This might be a little long, but I'd like to present the situation so there is nothing left out.

I plan on ordering Verizon Fios in a couple weeks, may even do a bundle, still checking around and doing price stuff.

Anyways, right now I do not have an HDTV, I don't plan on getting one right away, but I do want the HDTV channels because my monitor has an HDMI input and being that it is a 20inch, it decent for size and will do the job for now till I purchase one.

I plan on purchasing a Tivo HD DVR considering I want to be able to move files I record to my computer, something that the Verizon DVR's do not allow right now, something that is important to me.

Now here's the question.

When I look online there is a question asking how many TV's do you need to be set up for Verizon Fios.  It says that the first three are free and then after that you have to pay.  My question is, what exactly are they doing?  I'm not an idiot when it comes to electronics (not saying any of you are), but I'm not a noobie I guess you could say.  Are they just saying that they will be hooking the Fios up to the Tivo HD DVR and then that to the TV and setting it up?  Or are they actually doing something other than that?

Reason I ask is because as I said, I do not have the HD TV right now, but I will, if it's something such as connecting an HDMI cord, or component cables I will be fine because I can do that, if not then I have something to think about.

Also, I know I need a cablecard for the Tivo HD DVR, I've looked online, but am not able to find anything on them, pricing, where to buy them etc.

Any information on those two things would be great, I appreciate it!

When they say the first three are free, it means they will run the coax to three outlets and connect three TVs.

If you want them to run coax to more than that, or connect more than three TVs, then you'll be hit with additional charges.   There is nothing stopping you from connecting additional TVs on your own time.

Connecting a HDTV is simply a matter of connecting the HDMI cord.

Each TivoHD requires one multistream CableCard to support both tuners.  Verizon charges $3.99/mo per CableCard.  You order them from Verizon over the phone.

KenAF, thank you very much for the help I appreciate it.  I kinda figured when I was out today that's what they meant by doing 3 TV's for free, DOH!

Thanks again, I appreciate it.
