Pull the power plug for the DVR, wait 15-20 seconds, plug it back in, wait for the clock, and try again.
If it works, I suggest leaving the DVR powered on. There is virtually no power savings in turning it off, about the only things disabled when you power it off are the various output connections, pretty much everything else, including the hard drive, continue to be powered.
If it still won't power on, then you need to call the FSC: 1-888-553-1555.

You are welcome.
What happened? Well, I really have no idea. But my 3+ years experience with the FiOS DVR tells me that when it quits working, the first thing to do is remove power for a short time and then plug it back in. I have had very few problems with my DVR, but when I have, unplugging it briefly has pretty much always fixed it. Just file that memory away for the next time....
The remote control, as delivered, controls powering on and off both the TV and the DVR at the same time. You can change the way the remote works so it only turns on/off whichever device you last pushed the device button for on the remote (ie, the TV, the STB, the DVD, etc). You should have received a small instruction book with the remote that tells you how to separate the power on/off function (the same little book that lists the codes for the various brands of TV, etc), but here it is:
1) Press and hold the STB key.
2) While holding the STB key, press OK.
3) Release both keys, the Device Keys will blink twice.
4) Press 9-7-7. The STB key will blink twice.
5) Press OK. The STB key will blink 3 time to indicate success in programming.
Note: The above is directly from the instruction book; as I remember it, the blinking did not always match what the instructions said. But it still worked.

I think I found a bug with the multi room dvr. If you change to a channel you don't receive and then turn off the power, you won't be able to turn it back on.
Do other people have this same problem?
