problems with 7232

I swapped out my older dvr set for 7232.I noticed that the remotes dont function well if you try to scroll in the guide or you want to ff ,I keep hitting the keys several times before I get a response. This is not the remotes since I have 2 and they worked fine with my older dvr.The second and most infuriating thing is ,the screen goes blank for 5 seconds or the voices become garbled ,I have to unplug the dvr for it to work .I called tech who sent a signal ,that worked for 2 weeks ,but now im back to my old problem .Having to unplug every 2 or 3 days is not good .I hesitate to ask for a new dvr because I'm travelling a lot and I have lots of movies on this dvr.But doesn't Verizon test these dvr from Motorola the set is not very responsive  ,and not nearly as good as the old .I do like the bigger HD but am wondering if I made a mistake in changing. Is there a software update?

I also have a 7232, and initially it seemed only slightly less responsive than the 6416 it replaced. The IMG 1.9 arrived, and now it is a lot less responsive to the remote. I don't know the internals of the firmware but it's like the handling of the commands from the remote has become a 'spare time' task. It seems like   If the DVR is  busy doing something else, it just ignores the remote...

It is particularly bad just after power up, but I often find myself hitting the remote several times before anything seems to happen, and that didn't happen very often with the 6416....

So my belief is the 7232 is a little worse in this regard to begin with, and IMG 1.9 has made the problem a lot worse. I am not holding my breath waiting for it to be fixed.

Re: what I highlighted in your post, when you say "power up", do you mean the TV or the DVR or both?

If you mean DVR, I have no clue.

If you mean the TV or both, that makes the problem sound more like a long-time issue that has existed with certain Plasma TVs, and maybe some LCD TVs, when you use the ambient light-sensing setting in the TV or have it set for "vivid" display (typically the way the TV comes from the manufacturer). The problem comes from interference from the TV with the infrared signal to the STB, and frequently goes away after a few minutes. If you can, try moving the DVR away from the TV and see if the delays disappear. Or turn off those settings in the TV if either or both are on.

I don't know why you would not have experienced the same thing with your 6416, unless maybe you have moved things around, gotten a new TV, or power up differently?

I find the 3272 is very responsive to the remote with 1.9A, no issues, so I really think it is something in your environment.
