Alltel Voided Contract by Selling Company

After doing an extensive review of the contract that I signed with Alltel 6 years ago, I noticed that there was nothing covered about being bought out by another carrier or being forcefully merged by the FCC. When I signed that contract I signed it with "Alltel" not Verizon. The 6 years I was with Alltel, I never had any problems with my service, and now that Verizon has taken over it's a constant battle to just keep the equipment working properly. Verizon's explanation is that my equipment (Blackberry Curve 8330, UT Starcom 150 data card) is not functioning properly with their networks and even if I bought Verizon equipment, it may still not work properly because I am still using a Alltel plan. I feel that the contract with Alltel should no longer stand and everyone should be given the option to discontinue their service with alltel without having to pay any early termination fee, or Alltel should supply all of their customers with the proper equipment of equal value of what they currently own, that is fully compatible with Verizon at no charge. I bought a brand new phone from Alltel 3 weeks before they merged, I don't feel that I should have to buy another one because of the companies decision to sell their networks to Verizon. Also with having to switch to Verizon equipment and a Verizon plan, it should be the same service that you had received from Alltel at the same price.

Re: Alter Voided Contract by Selling Company

I agree 100%. I will be leaving Verizon/Alltel if I do not get any satisfaction very soon. I did file complaints with the BBB and states attorney generals office.  I am with you. Verizon has change my contract three times now. ( without written notice )That  is a BREACH of contract period! No court of law can change that. I did keep a paper copy of my agreement to bad they did not. If they attempt to collect a early termination fee all of the info. will be forwarded to the proper authorities,. It will cost them more when they loose and have to pay my legal fees. Every Alltel customer needs to do is STAND up for their rights. But so many are wimps and letting Verizon walk all over them.

Not this customer!.
