Customer Service - Worse than I could ever imagine.

Here's my experience so far:

- my box powers down spontaneously about 50% of the time I've used it.

- they tacked on a $20 fee on my first fee under "Voice Additional Services", and when I called to dispute this charge (which no one mentioned to me when I signed up for the service, they said simply, no dice, they would credit me for only $4.50 of it).

- I can't get into their online bill pay as someone (the installation technicians?) set up a PIN that I don't know at all.

and on the technical/installation side:

- no static IP (unless I sign up for a business account)

- no option to use the internet jack on the interface box so I can get internet to work on the first floor of the house (it's outside the reach of the wireless hub they provided).

-  it took hours with 2 people to get my installation done... they were real nice and all, but, I did have to watch those fellas like a hawk so they wouldn't put a hole in my house bigger than my head.

and today... ah lovely afternoon.

I spent no less than 2hrs w/6 or 8 people trying to get credit for service that worked only half the time I've tried to use it (FIOS TV). And finally, success... thanks to Brian in Encore...

all I have to say in conclusion is... I've only had this service for about 40 days and I already want out.

thanks for reading! 🙂

Sorry to hear that you had some issues with your instalaltion and initial setup.  If you can get thru them the Verizon Product is far superior to Cable.

The Pin to Activate On-Line services can be delivered to you via Postal Mail or they can call the phone number for the account and an automated system will provide it to you.  As long as you set it up during normal hours the system should call you in a few minutes and provide you with a temporary pin to set up the account.  Just a security measure on their part.

You may be able [edit] to get Ethernet to your 1st floor via the Coax Cable.  Here is a FAQ with more information:

I am finding the pricing to be way more than I was quoted and I too am looking for the out door.  Sadly, Comcast pricing is in the same ballpark.  There area so many "additional charges" appearing that the package deal is only 50% of the monthly.

I am not sure why Oregon is so high priced.  My cable service in FL was about half what anyone charges in OR and had all the bells and whistles.

I am now in the mode of looking at all the options for getting rid of these bandits.
