Your best bet is to go to www.verizon.com and from the top choose
Internet
Then choose Check Availability
Enter your address
Here you can choose the plan(s) that fit your needs.
Make sure you are selected high speed internet for DSL service.

Hello Paulina24,
I have some good news for you. You do not need to subscribe to AOL services and DSL to use internet. You can also have DSL without a phone line which is called a Dry Loop service. If this is something you are interested in you can call the sales office at 800-Ver-izon (800-837-4966). If you would like for me to assist I will need a phone number to contact you which we will do in private. Please refer the private message I have sent you.
Thanks!

Dump AOL, it is merely an online coimmunity of sorts that charges you. If you have DSL, internet is free after that using your web browser such as Internet explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
Also DRY loop DSL does not require a home phone. kepp trying until you get them to do it. or change providers.

I have been VERY upset with Verizon for quite some time. Now the latest reason is, in the beginning of May 2012, I was told that I could get the dry loop for internet and drop the home phone line. I puchased cell phones since our home phone lines are HORRIBLE and Verizon has no intentions of fixing the old equipment at the pole. My Mother is elderly, a cancer patient, and has been in out of the hospital. I need phones that work!! So I call Verizon back at the end of MAY 2012 to cancel the phone lines and get the dry loop, and I am informed that it is NO LONGER AVAILABLE????? So now I am stuck with 2 phone bills! And I can't get anyone to pay attention to my dilemma. I Did write a letter and mail it. Any responses from anyone?? NO! And to top it off, I got laid off, so 2 phone bills is definetley out of the question!!
PLEASE someone, respond to this with good news????

When I inquired about this I was told by one of your reps that I had to have a land line to have DSL. Which really bothered me since I have not used my phone service in almost 2yrs but have been paying for it. I've just changed my services to some bundle so that I can save a little more money.

Paulina24;
Have you considered going to your State or Local "Public Utility agency? By all measures, if you have Verizon DSL. it's probably still "regulated".
