Is the "10 Free Minutes" advertised for FIOS movies on demand real?

Just finished nearly an hour with 4 different Verizon customer service reps all of whom knew nothing about the "10 Free Minutes" offered for FIOS movies on demand, in Verizon's July 2012 Spotlight magazine. The second page says that free 10-minute previews are offered for various titles, including John Carter and Game of Shadows. This says to me that the first ten minutes of a rental will not be charged if you stop viewing in time. But I cannot find anyone at Verizon that either knows about this advertised offer, or how it works. There is nothing on Verizon's website or FAQs, nothing in the Forums about how this works. If some special step is required to avoid being billed in the following month for an entire rental when only 9 minutes was watched, I would like to know. Does anyone have any direct experience with how this works in practice?
