Is an e-mail from "secureserver.net" with the subject "Verizon FiOS Email Address Verification" legitimate? There is a hyperlink that directs the user to "www36_fiosvoice.bissetteappraisal.com". If it is not legitimate, does Verizon have an address to forward these Pfishing expeditions so they can block or stop them? I check e-mail everyday - VZ should know it is a verified address.
Odds are pretty good that it's a scam. I'm not sure what information they are asking for, but none of those are legitimate Verizon addresses.
Forward to abuse@verizon.net and have them take a look at it.
