TV Caller ID

My TV Caller ID has not worked for several days now,

 

This needs to be resolved.

If you had gone to the FiOS TV Technical Assistance board instead of posting here in the General Residential Products and Services board you might have seen a thread stickied at the top of the TV board with info on a new function that you can use in your STB Menu to fix most Caller ID problems on your TV:

Try it, a number of people have reported that it works.

Didn't work for us!  Tried it and it said it was fixed and we should wait 5 minutes.  Hours later, still not working.  We find caller I.D. very unreliable.

Sorry it didn't work for you, don't know what else to suggest other than try it again, if it doesn't work try it again, etc. I would try at least 3 or 4 times before giving up. And then if it doesn't work, call tech support or use the Chat and see if a tech can get it working, supposedly it is an easy process for a Verizon tech to get it working (if you actually reach a tech that understands the problem, which I think is rare).

 

I think to some extent the problems with the Caller ID on TV function are VHO related. I have had the service on my TV since late in 2009 and I have probably lost the service only 2 or 3 times since then. And when I have lost the service, turning off Caller ID in the STB, rebooting the STB, and then turning Caller ID back on in the STB has always fixed it, I have never had to call tech support or use the new function in the STB Menu to get it working (I am guessing it has been at least a year since Caller ID on the TV has failed for me, although every once in a while the pop-up on the TV displays well after the call :smileysad: ) .

 

Good luck. I hope you will not give up, I find it to be a useful service that generally works very well.
