Verizon customer service offered me a free 3 month trial of the security suite with the data backup. They told me they would send a link via email, have not got it yet. My time is wasting on my trial and I want to try it, where do I download it.

Hi snuzzardbuzzard, If you didn't get the email in your primary email account or an email you provided, you can log into the primary acct, click on MY ACCOUNT then click on "Manage Broadband Essentials & Extras" in the left pane. It will take you to the download. (On Verizon 2.0 "Manage Broadband Essentials & Extras" is located in the right pane off the internet tab. If for some reason there is nothing available to download, its possible there may have been an issue with the order.

I downloaded the security suite but having problem with the installation. Shortly after the installation starts I get a message that says "...need to restart computer before reinstalling McAfee products". After trying this several times, and even downloading the Virtual Technician (as advised). After the VT scanned my computer it said there was a McAfee file that needed to be removed. I wasn't able to find any file and even ran the McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool. I have uninstalled, rebooted, installed and nothing seems to work. When FIOS was installed, the Verizon installer set up my lap top with the security suite and I thought he installed it on my PC as well - HELP!!!!!

I got the email - I've got in in my-Verizon messages list as well.
a) View the message
b) I click on the Download button - and a screen to accept terms (that also lists the backup deal too - that I don't want) appears.
c) If I don't click really fast - it closes and returns to the message list.
d) If I click really fast, I can accept the terms, and then - nothing, I'm back to the message list.
I'm back at a)
What do I do to actually be able to download the security suite?

Download the In home agent and install it
Once it's installed, open it.
Look in the notification area, and you'll see a notification that you're subscribed to the internet security, and click here to download and install. It's all automated through the in home agent and easy to install that way.

snuzzardbuzzard,
Don't bother with VISS Verizon Internet Security Suite. I learned the hard way that it's money down the drain and I only paid for it more over the long run. You're much better off with free virus programs that you can download. I use avast.com and malwarebytes.com. Verizon Internet Security Suite is "powered" by McAfee, but all it really is is a program for which Verizon can get the cheapest bid and its virus definitions are outdated, no matter how often you might think it's being updated. To make a long story short, I had that program for a little more than 3 years and in that time frame, my computer eventually came to a halt so that I could no longer get onto the Internet and even before that, my Internet was slowing down, hardly being the blazingly fast speed which Verizon always advertises. The whole time, the program never picked up any viruses and not knowing what else to do, I went through the phonebook and hired someone privately to come to my house to look at the problem. It turned out that I indeed had viruses and on Internet Explore, the proxy setting was turned on which is something that a virus can easily do by itself. A proxy setting is not a good thing. As soon as those undetected viruses were cleaned out, my Internet went right back into motion at lightning speed and it's been fine ever since then. And since then, I've been much better off with the running the free virus programs once a month, in addition to clearing my browsing history, temp files, and cookies. I never did any of that before but this is important routine maintenance that can save your computer from a lot of problems.
