Verizon ECB2200V Moca Adapter Issues

I connected one of these today and used the included 2-way splitter which I split one feed to the adapter for Internet to the ECB2200V and it worked fine. I split the other feed to the Fios STB. The Picture and sound are fine, but the VOD and uide information do not come through. The router and STB have been reset and still nothing. This is suppossed to just work as it says no configuration needed. Any help on getting this going would be great.

If I understand your setup, the coax from the wall plate runs to the splitter, and then one leg runs to the adapter and the other to the STB.  This means that you've added (1) a splitter and (2) two coax cables to the system.  Since the STB performed correctly prior to adding these parts, and since the adapter is providing an Internet connection, the only other possible culprits are the splitter and/or the additional cables.

You indicate that Actiontec supplied the splitter so it's likely that the splitter meets the required specifications: it must be bidirectional and pass something like 5 to 2000 kHz (I think that's the spec but I'm not going to check right now).  Since the Internet side is working, the splitter is probably OK.  That leaves the cables.

Try switching around the three cables and check the system.  It's possible that either a loose or faulty connector is the issue.  Please try this procedure if you can, and report back.  Good luck.

You are correct on the splitter,It is the supplied one from actiontec. Since the STB is working as far as pictureand sound just not getting the connection for data,I can't see it being a 2ft piece of coax that was also brand new in the actiontec box and there was nothin noticeably wrong with it. I have also had this happen more than once in different installations.

So what happened when you switched the cables around and tried the various permutations?

Sounds like you may have a MoCA limit issue if cabling is good. The splitter needs to go to 1000 MHZ

How many cable boxes do you have? Do not include converter boxes. What router do you have? I believe the limit is 8 for MoCA on an older router.  You may need a Gen 3 router (red band around front).

Unplug your MoCA adaptor. Reset all cable boxes and router with adaptor unplugged. Check for data connectivity on cable boxes. If data is restored, plug adaptor back in. If adaptor works make sure none of the cable boxes got knocked offline. Easiest way is to see if  VOD page will load.
